4-Week Bootcamp:

Be Their Best Educational Advocate

Starts February 22nd at 5:30pm ET - on Zoom

This 4-week Bootcamp is for parents who are trying to figure out what their kid needs to be OK at school and how to make it happen.

When your kid’s mental health challenges begin to impact their education, the process of interfacing with the school can feel like a black box.
Many parents don’t know where to start or how to intervene.
This 4-week training will provide all the information you need – in ONE place.

Together we will explore what to do when:

  • Your kid won’t go to school.
  • Your kid is overwhelmed by the workload and is at risk of falling behind.
  • Your kid has long-standing learning challenges that aren’t being adequately addressed.
  • School has become a constant source of stress.

I will help you answer common questions like:

  • At what point should I involve the school?  How do I ask for help?  Are there things I can do on my own?
  • Does my kid need testing?  If so, when? By whom?
  • When is it time for a 504? IEP? What is the difference?
  • What accommodations should I request? (Hint: there are many possibilities that aren’t being mentioned)
  • Is it time to change schools?

You will learn everything you need to know to determine what your kid needs at school and how to make it happen.

Our kids are struggling now more than ever before – at least more than ever during my 15-year career as a psychiatrist.

They are depressed, anxious, unfocused, and overwhelmed.

This isn’t just for parents of kids who have long-standing school-related needs.

This is for you too!

It doesn’t have to be so hard to help your kids be OK.

And the best part:

This is happening in a small group so you get to see what other parents are asking, all the things you never even knew you should ask or felt too uncomfortable to ask.  It is a great way to share resources with people in your exact same situation.

4 Tuesdays: 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15
5:30-6:30pm ET - on Zoom

*All sessions will be recorded and audio will be available for you to listen at your convenience.

We have gained so much from your coaching and the group experience. I want to thank you for your help because it really has made a world of difference. We know that there will always be bumps in the road but feel we now have the tools to navigate in a more constructive manner. If you are a parent of a teen who is struggling with anxiety/depression, this parent coaching group is extremely valuable in giving you the tools and mindset to help your teen. After participating in Dr. Young's parent coaching group, I am able to show up as a more compassionate parent while at the same time maintaining boundaries and rules. I also highly recommend the parent coaching for spouses too; it is a great way to get both parents on the same page and improve communication with their teen.

"As parents of a young adult who suffers from both anxiety and depression, my husband and I sometimes find ourselves at a loss for how best to work with our daughter and provide her with the support that she needs. When we saw that Dr. Young was establishing a coaching group for parents, we were a bit hesitant as it’s never easy to share personal, occasionally painful, experiences with people who you don’t know. Nonetheless, we decided to give it a try. It really was a great experience! Dr. Young provides clear, easy to follow suggestions on how to approach challenges while facilitating discussions and providing validation. We would definitely recommend this parents’ coaching group as it gave my husband and me a new perspective, insight into the fact that our issues were not unique and lots of support from some very loving families."
